Nowadays when only certain thing is constant change everyone love to talk about agile teams, flexible organisation and empowered employees but most of them fail in their companies to really put all mentioned above into force and frustration usually rise top bottom and back. Then just a quick look in the organigram confirms what you already know – they still have deep hierarchy that doesn’t allow flow, cross functions and systematic collaboration. As company are people in all meanings, and people are alive, company could be just an living organism made of living entities. Further, if company is alive, it is breathing, changing all the time, as a result of inner or outer factors. In order to survive it needs to be quick, flexible, adaptable and healthy. Also, as a living organism it is taking care more about other living organism (employees, society and planet…) understanding they are mutually dependable.
People, but than companies also, have physical intelligence as a foundation, followed by cognitive, emotional and spiritual intelligence, which supersede each other respectively. Technology is stronger than people in the field of of physical and cognitive, but people are still stronger in emotional and spiritual intelligence. Companies, luckily, can have all of it. Yes, it is the time to introduce intuition, not only individual but also collective.
Yes to strategic thinking, data analysing, operational problem solving and structure BUT no if that is all. It would be like someone decide to use one side of the brain only. Why would you do that to yourself?
Leaders should work on self development in order to be able to transform teams and organisation
that is able to transform or at least shape the society new way. If you disagree, believe me, you are already late to lead and shape present and future. Constant education and training are the only possible way to stay on board.
